Kokua Support Services is currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist who works as a supportive team member responsible for the day-to-day operations of the HR department of the company. This candidate is responsible for coordinating and implementing best practices in the areas of employee relations, recruitment, employee onboarding, termination, and benefits administration by utilizing human resources best practices, company policies, state and federal laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Conduct recruiting efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel; responsible for writing an effective job ad, advertising job openings, identifying candidates through database searches, initial screening, and assisting the hiring manager during the interview process.
-Implement the reporting requirements on the company’s Affirmative Action Program to ensure compliance. Ability to utilize human resources concepts, EEOC/OFCCP laws and regulations, and company policies to ensure compliance in recruitment effort.
-Responsible for onboarding new hires to include application form package, I-9, E-verify, benefit package for new hire employees, and entering information into the ADP system accurately.
-Assist management in appropriate resolution on employee relations issues in compliance with company’s policies, agreements and state laws and regulations.
-Ability to respond to employees’ inquiries regarding company policies, procedures and/or benefit programs.
-Provide assistance and research support to accounting personnel and management on renewal of benefit plan programs such as health, dental/vision insurances, and other employee assistance programs.
-File EEO-1, Veterans and AAP reports annually.
-Ensure accurate information reflects in the human resources and payroll databases for all employees’ personnel/employment data, emergency contact, benefit enrollment, beneficiary and tenure.
-Maintain confidentiality concerning personnel records, legal actions, non-renewal documents, payroll and organizational plans.
-Maintain the company’s human resources information system (HRIS) efficiently.
-Present regular reports and other issues requiring decisions directly to corporate management.
-Attend job fairs as required.
-Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Education and Experiences:
-Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in related field; three to five years human resources experience.
-Expertise in ADP Workforce Now Software, Spreadsheet Software (Excel), Human Resources Systems (HRIS), Word Processing Software (Word), and Presentation Software (PowerPoint). Ability to navigate internet vendor websites for benefit administration
-Knowledge of government contracting (DoD) to include recruiting of technical and specialized positions using several job boards.
