Director of Business Development
Mike Morton is the Director of Business Development for Kokua Support Services, responsible for the strategic growth of the company in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and vision. He stays abreast of industry opportunities, maintaining an up to date business development pipeline with potential opportunities of interest, as well as initiates and maintains meaningful collaboration with industry peers with an eye towards increasing Kokua’s market exposure. In his current role, Mike identifies appropriate opportunities for capture, and is responsible for the execution of Kokua’s proposal process that ultimately leads to a successful capture.
Mike previously worked at Insignia Technology Services as a Division Manager where he served many roles including Business Development, Capture, Proposal, and Program Management. Insignia grew rapidly during his tenure, and he led or supported the successful capture of numerous opportunities with various customers, including the U.S. Air Force and Department of Veterans Affairs.
Prior to Insignia, Mike completed a very successful 23 year career in the United States Air Force and retired in 2011. In his final assignment, he had the distinction of serving as a Vice-Presidential Communications Officer at the White House Communications Agency, providing comprehensive communications support to the White House. His highest decoration includes the Bronze Star Medal earned in Iraq in 2006 for his efforts to support Coalition and Iraqi Armed Forces as the communications focal point at a forward deployed base.
Mike has a Bachelors Degree in Management of Information Systems and is a member of the Association for Proposal Management Professionals. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and children.
